Feather View Cabins in Graeagle

Welcome to Feather View Cabins located on the "Wild and Scenic" Feather River just three miles west of Graeagle, California on Highway 70. This mountain get-away is near rugged canyons, crystal clear lakes, grassy meadows, trout-filled streams, and fresh pine forests, great golf, hiking, and boating with brilliant star-filled skies.

Feather View Cabins was purchased by the Harpham Sisters in July of 2005. Feather View is on 38 acres and borders the Feather River for three-quarter mile. You have full use of all 38 acres. The property was originally a logging camp developed in the late 1930's. The main cabin was built well after the logging camp closed and offers the comforts you would expect from a modern home..

The original cabins, used by logging company managers, are still on the property. They are being restored but are far enough from the main cabin as to not be noticed. The property still maintains the rustic atmosphere and feel of days past. Incredible views of the Feather River and mountains.

The train can be heard and seen moving up and down the canyon several times a day. This adds to the feel of this comfortable home. The Feather River, designated a "Wild and Scenic River," provides great fly fishing or just fun floating! The river actually runs through the property; one of only a few properties in California to claim that status.

There is plenty of room for parking. The amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen and all linens, towels, etc. You can relax and enjoy the mountain view from the comfortable deck overlooking the backyard, or have a barbecue on the lower patio. The home is just minutes away from five world-class golf courses, the Lakes Basin National Recreation Area (fishing, boating, etc.), Plumas Eureka State Park, and the historic mining town of Johnsville. The area has miles of hiking and biking trails and many back roads for four-wheel drive SUV adventures. Graeagle has many quaint shops, nice restaurants, and the "Mill Pond" where you can rent paddleboats. Reno is just a short one hour drive away, as is the Lake Tahoe area.

During the summer, the Dixieland Jazz Concerts are held once a month in Graeagle Park. There are great celebrations and parades going on for the July Fourth Independence Day weekend. A few other upcoming fun activities to mention are the Annual Arts and Crafts Fair and the Fall Festival Arts and Crafts Fair, both in Graeagle, and the Plumas Sierra County Fair in Quincy.
